PORTRAITS

Do You wish to have a portrait of yourself or of a family member?

Well this is the time since Joseph is offering to take up commissions.

The portraits come in different ways depending on what you wish to have.  You can have (a) a charcoal drawing on paper; (b) a monochromatic painting in acrylic on canvas; (c) a full color painting on canvas.

Below are the necessary details you need to know:

STEP 1: You need to have a professional photograph; very sharp with focus on the face.  Joseph will determine if the photograph is appropriate or not.  It is wise to have more than one photograph ready. The photograph can be black and white or in color.

Step 2: If you wish to have a charcoal drawing this will be on a classic cream acid free paper 24 x 18 in; 90lbs. The drawing will be fresh, gestural and dynamic and highlights the resemblance, personality and character features in clear light and shade contrasts.  It will have a clear coating of fixative spray to seal it.  Cost is $500 including shipping in a safe tube.

Step 3:  If you wish to have a portrait painting on unstretched canvas, this will be 24 x 20 in; this is executed in monochrome sepia color. Cost is $800.  If you wish to have it stretched on a wooden frame, the cost is $900.  Costs include shipping.

Step 4:  if you wish a full color portrait on unstretched canvas, this will be 24 x 20 in; this will cost $1,200.  If you wish to have it stretched on a wooden frame, the cost is   $1, 300.  Costs include shipping.

The style of the portrait is fresh and spontaneous.  Brush strokes are visible and not blended to a smooth finish.  The emphasis is on steady, calculated brush strokes to bring the character and resemblance.  IF YOU DO NOT LIKE THE PORTRAIT YOU DO NOT HAVE TO TAKE IT.   If interested please send your request to  joseph.p.cassar@gmail.com
